review

As London Mardi Gras looms ever closer, promising to be bigger and better than ever before, some may ask is bigger neccessarily better? If a day lost in the middle of a field with no mobile reception, trying to arrange to meet up with 5 different sets of friends isn't your cup of tea, then maybe Soho Pride was just for you. The REALBrighton team set out to investigate...

For the first time last Saturday, Soho Pride was launched to the awaiting crowd in Old Compton Street. The event, as it suggested, was a lot smaller than other London events, but this was no bad thing. One end of Old Compton Street was blocked off with a stage which played host to acts including Lola Lasagne and Dave Lynn, and Simon Happily introduced acts from Soho's favourite comedy cellar, Comedy Camp. Meanwhile in Soho Square, music filled the air as the park filled with gorgeous boys and girls all having picnics, washed down by a summer Pimms.

I think it must have been the Pimms that may the day go so quickly. One moment I was lying in the sun, enjoying the sights and sounds of an intimate Pride, and then I woke up on Sunday morning with my face in a bowl of cheesy wotsits. Thank you Soho for a lovely day. I'm off to remove these wotsits...
