Mardi Gras' 2008 Volunteer Recognition Night...

I was really pleased to receive an email from the Board and Staff of New Mardi Gras inviting me to the Volunteers Recognition & Thank You Night. What a lovely touch!
At the beginning of every Mardi Gras Season the hunt is on for volunteers to join in planning, designing, creating and managing the three week Festival.
This year's 30th Anniversary of Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras was a huge success and the volunteers are obviously an integral part of this. This year they had an overwhelming number of people volunteer to play their part and the Board and Staff of New Mardi Gras wanted to thank everyone and show their appreciation.
Well... I jumped at the chance and had a great evening!
Not only did their fabulous DJ play some awesome tunes and I caught up with some friends I made whilst volunteering but some volunteers were formally recognised for their fantastic efforts. The only disappointment of the evening was that I missed out on some of the complimentary drinks, but that's the price you pay for being fashionably late!
