The beauty of a parade that goes on for seven hours is that you can take a break half way through, go back to the apartment, have a glass of bubbly to celebrate any birthdays that may be happening that day (Happy Birthday Carl!), then lazily stroll back out into the streets to find that - if you join the route a couple of blocks up - you haven't missed a thing! Marvellous!
