Drag Racing – Battle of the Balls!...
review
I don’t know who thought the idea up, but I wanna snog them: zorbing with drag queens – where else but Brighton?!
Just as I arrived someone said – is this where suicidal drag queens go over the edge? It wasn’t quite the case, but it was certainly true that some of the glamour girls were a bit nervous about rolling down Devils Dyke in a big see-thru plastic ball!
With donations going to pride, people bet money to go racing with their favourite drag queen. Lady James had gathered together a gaggle of lovelies including Connie Conway, Sally Vate, Stephanie Starlet and more. And together with Pride chair Josh Mills, Pride 2008 was launched in an especially surreal way.
The horizon went black at one point, but it only turned out to be a stag party coming over the hill. So many straight boys obviously grabbed the queens attentions, and they were teased all afternoon.
There was wine and nibbles from Barefoot and money raised for Pride. Oh, and lots of people rolled down a large hill…
loved it!
Despite my intial fears, I went in three times - and won both the races I was in! I am now a complete Orb whore! CandiRell, 7 Aug 2008 [+]
