The Brighton Lesbian and Gay Sports Society (BLAGSS for short) runs lots of events in all sorts of sports throughout the year. For Pride the group put on a selection of taster events and tonight was one of those - a reasonable level of fitness and a bike was all that was required!
Eleven of us set off at 6.30pm from the Peace statue in Hove, with Devil's Dyke in our sights. The route followed lots of cycle paths until we got onto the Downs. We also passed a windmill on the way, though I can’t tell you what it was called as I can't find it on any damn map at home, grrrr!
Anyhoo, we only lost one of our number in the climb up to the Dyke. There we had a refreshing drink at the pub and sat outside admiring the spectacular view as the light faded beautifully… Would I do it again – hell yeah!
