As the crowds began to gather expectantly in the streets, the finishing touches were being put to sets, make-up and costumes as the parade took shape ready to set off at 2pm.
REALManchester's coverage of the parade is kindly supported by the fabulous Princess on Portland hotel. Gorgeous rooms, lovely staff and right in the centre of the village! You just can't fault it!

Manchester Pride has been around for a number of years, previously in the guise of Mardi Gras, GayFest and the Ab Fab Weekend. In recent years, the organisation has grown significantly, focussed its aims and provided a network for community groups, the City Council and the gay businesses - no mean feat!
