review

After the relentless partying that the Brighton & Hove Pride festival brought us, I was unsure whether Brightonians had another party in them. Fortunately, they had!

The call went out for gunslingin' arse bandits, and they turned up in their droves. With the crowd full of the likes of Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, Calamity Jane and Billy The Kidd coming down from the Black Hills of Dakota a showdown was sure to ensue.

Fortunately the tunes of Sherrif Neil Duffie and Deputies Dave Piccioni and Mr Haywood kept gunfights to a minimum. As the bartender served the last Sarsparilla, time at the bar was called, and the the good folk of Brighton saddled up and headed back to their ranches to warm up their straighteners for October's Big Hair 12th Birthday.

Doug, Markie and Joel strap on their leather chaps, grab their stetsons and head into the sunset [sunrise, surely? Ed] with their trusty cameras in their holsters ready to shoot some Wild Western Boys and Girls...

about Wild Fruit

The monthly Wild Fruit is undoubtedly one of Brighton's clubbing institutions. Always glamorous, always packed and always great music from resident DJs Pete Haywood, Neil Duffie and friends. The night is often punctuated with stage acts, muscly dancers, regular live big name PAs and guest DJs such as local superstar DJ Norman Cook... it's NEVER a dull party!
